2 young people from Nghe An on a breast milk journey across Vietnam

(Baonghean.vn) - The 3rd Cross-Vietnam Breast Milk Journey is being eagerly awaited by many mothers from the North to the South. This meaningful journey has the participation of two young people from Nghe An: Trinh Tuan (former student of Do Luong 1 High School) and Le My Ai (former student of Huynh Thuc Khang High School). They just had interesting memories when traveling through Vinh - their hometown in Nghe An.

My Ai in "Breast milk journey across Vietnam" comes to Vinh City.

Le My Ai is an editor of Women's Publishing House, one of the two organizations organizing the "Breastfeeding Journey across Vietnam". Ai is the direct editor of the book "68 misconceptions and realizations about Breastfeeding" by author Le Nhat Phuong Hong. The book is considered a complete, useful and highly applicable document in breastfeeding. After only 1 year of its release, this book on breastfeeding has been reprinted 4 times with 16,000 copies printed.

A mother came to respond to the "Breast Milk Journey Across Vietnam"

My Ai shared that the breast milk journey across Vietnam is in response to World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7 every year) organized by the World Breastfeeding Organization WABA, UNICEF, WHO with the goal of rebuilding the culture of breastfeeding and supporting breastfeeding around the world. The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2016 is to communicate the role of Breast Milk in the overall sustainable development of the world.

Trinh Tuan is the only father among the four speakers, including masters and doctors, who is admired by many people because of his touching life story. After 10 days of giving birth, his wife passed away, and single father Trinh Tuan had to carry his child and beg for breast milk to raise his child. Thanks to that, Un, Tuan's daughter, is strong, mature, and has good immunity. Understanding the meaning of breast milk and wanting to share more of this meaning, this year Tuan and his daughter joined the group across Vietnam on a breast milk journey. Tuan is also the founder of a breast milk bank in Ho Chi Minh City, a place for mothers to share milk with a completely voluntary spirit for mothers and babies.

Trinh Tuan shared that the Breast Milk Journey across Vietnam hopes to call on everyone to join hands to change the community's awareness of Breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is not only for the health of mother and baby but also for a more beautiful, greener, cleaner, and more sustainable world for our babies.

Editor My Ai also shared many emotions when the breast milk journey stopped at Vinh City: A very happy thing for Trinh Tuan and I was to return to organize a breast milk exchange in Nghe An, our hometown. We Nghe people are very special, when we go far away and meet each other and know that we are fellow countrymen, we are as excited as if we were family members who have not seen each other for a long time. We are the same. And Nghe people, no matter where they go, always yearn for their homeland, wanting to do something to contribute to their homeland.

The 2016 Vietnam Breast Milk Journey will visit the following destinations:Hanoi, Hai Phong - Ha Long, Ninh Binh, Vinh, Da Nang, Da Lat, Can Tho, Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City.
