On August 11, Thu Duc District Police detained Le Van Phuong (born in 1989, residing in Phu Yen province) to handle the act of "Theft of property".

Initial investigation showed that at 1:30 a.m. on August 7, Phuong walked around the streets of Thu Duc district, observing the villas with gaps in their owners' houses to find a way to break in. When he arrived at Linh Xuan street (Thu Duc district), Phuong discovered that the house had a low fence, so he climbed inside.

The suspect climbed up to the second floor of the villa and took away 5 piggy banks with more than 200 million VND. Phuong continued to take another handbag containing 8 million VND, 5 iPhones, 1 iPad and a 9999 gold ring. After committing the crime, Phuong climbed out and escaped towards the Linh Trung - Kha Van Can intersection to catch a bus to Nha Trang.

A few minutes later, the homeowner discovered the theft and immediately reported it to the authorities. From the security camera in the house, Thu Duc District Police identified Phuong as the perpetrator and planned to arrest him.

Through the GPS devices of 5 phones and iPads, the detectives determined that Phuong was moving to Nha Trang so they chased him. On the afternoon of August 9, the detectives arrested Phuong in Nha Trang City and transferred him to Thu Duc District Police for processing.

At the investigation agency, Phuong admitted his crime.
