Tran Quoc Truong calmly received the news that he got 28.2 points for block B (Math: 9, Chemistry: 9.8 and Biology 9.4). That admirable score placed her 21st in the “List of 100 highest-scoring candidates in Block B 2016”. She was the runner-up in Block B in Nghe An province, one of the candidates with the highest Chemistry score in Vinh University exam cluster and had the top three university entrance exam subjects in Bac Yen Thanh High School, the school she attended for three years in particular and in Yen Thanh district in general.

Born into a family with parents working in agricultural production, Truong showed determination to overcome difficulties in studying from a young age. For twelve consecutive years, Truong was an excellent student and won third prize in the provincial competition for excellent students in Chemistry in the 2014-2015 school year.

Talking about her son's results, Ms. Phan Thi Phuong, Truong's mother, was moved: "Every day he studies until 12 o'clock at night. He mainly borrows books and study materials from his seniors and then tries to figure out how to solve them himself. Seeing him so skinny, I feel so sorry for him. The secret to studying that Truong “revealed” is that in addition to listening attentively to the teachers’ lectures, you must always have a notebook to write down difficult Math problems, key Chemistry formulas, and confusing Biology theory questions.
