Hundreds of police officers surrounded and apprehended suspects in the murder of a forest ranger.
During the operation to apprehend the suspects involved in the attack on the group of forest rangers, several riot police officers were injured and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.
On August 13, the Lam Dong Provincial Police initiated a criminal investigation into the murder and resistance to law enforcement officers that occurred in Me Linh commune, Lam Ha district, resulting in the death of a forest protection officer and serious injuries to two others.

On the same day, hundreds of police officers were mobilized to arrest Mo Bon Ha Hoang (40 years old, residing in Hang Hot village, Me Linh commune) along with three other young men involved in the case.
However, upon seeing riot police escorting the suspects, nearly 100 agitated residents surrounded them, demanding their release. Many unruly individuals threw stones and fired slingshots at the officers, forcing the police to fire warning shots into the air to disperse the crowd. Nearly 10 riot police officers were injured and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Lam Dong Provincial Police said they are still screening suspects involved in the murder and resisting arrest in order to prosecute them.
Earlier, on the afternoon of August 8th, nearly 20 officials from the Nam Ban Protective Forest Management Board and the Phi To commune government in Lam Ha district went to Sub-area 243 to clear encroached forest land. The task force was attacked by a group of people wielding weapons, resulting in the death of Mr. Nguyen Ai Tinh (49 years old, an official from the Nam Ban Protective Forest Management Board) on the spot, serious injuries to two young officials, and damage to several police vehicles.
