On August 22, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Duong Province issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain Cao Nhat Duy (22 years old, from Kien Giang) to investigate and clarify the acts of murder and robbery.

According to initial investigation, on July 26, after 4 days of losing contact with Ms. L (25 years old), L's family went to the rented room in Long Binh neighborhood, Khanh Binh ward, Tan Uyen town (Binh Duong) to clarify the incident.

There, they discovered that the door to the rented room was locked with many suspicious signs. Their intuition told them that something was wrong, so they decided to ask the people around to break the door lock and were shocked to discover that L had died, so they quickly reported the incident to the police.

Through investigation and verification, the detectives had grounds to confirm that Cao Nhat Duy, who was living as husband and wife with Ms. L., was the perpetrator. The detectives arrested Duy while he was hiding in the area and transferred him to the Binh Duong Provincial Police.

At the police station, Duy initially confessed that he had known Ms. L and lived with the victim as husband and wife. On July 22, due to blind jealousy, Duy and Ms. L had a heated argument that led to a fight.

Angry, Duy used his hands to strangle his lover to death. Then, he robbed the victim of her motorbike, all her gold bracelets, jewelry, cell phone and about 2 million VND, locked the door and fled back to his hometown.
