South American television channel Telesur reported on June 27 that analysts from the Brazilian Senate had issued a report showing that Ms. Dilma Roussef did not directly participate in financial violations and was not personally responsible for them.
The TV channel added that the reports also said there was no reason to continue the impeachment process against Ms. Rousseff.
Despite the Senate report's exoneration of Rouseff, Brazilian lawmakers will meet again to decide on the report on August 9, media reports said.
Earlier in May, with a 55-22 vote, Brazilian lawmakers approved charges against Ms. Rousseff, accusing her of borrowing money from state banks to hide budget deficits.
Lawmakers then also suspended President Dilma Rousseff from office for 180 days and began her impeachment trial.
Ms Rousseff denounced the move as an attempted coup.
