5 year old girl's tendons cut when she came to her father's house to collect debt

After lending money to Mr. Hien but he did not pay on time, Nhan hired two 9X men to break into his house and seriously injure many people, including a 5-year-old girl whose leg tendon was severed.

On August 24, Colonel Tran Phuoc Huong, Chief of Hai Chau District Police (Da Nang), said he had arrested the mastermind of the murder of Mr. Hien's family (31 years old, residing in Hoa Cuong Nam ward) that left 3 people injured.

The suspect is Do Thanh Nhan (36 years old, residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district). After 5 months on the run, Nhan was arrested by undercover police in Ho Chi Minh City and extradited to Da Nang.

"Nhan admitted to being the mastermind of the murder. After hiring two other people to commit the crime, Nhan hid in Da Nang for a while, then returned to his wife's hometown in Que Son, and then fled to Ho Chi Minh City," said Colonel Huong.

The scouts organized 149 ambushes in Da Nang and 39 in other localities before they were able to capture Nhan. "Nhan frequently changes his residence. We had to use many professional measures," said Colonel Huong.

Previously, Nhan lent Mr. Hien money. Because Mr. Hien did not pay on time, Nhan hired Dinh Van Hung (18 years old) and Tran Anh Khoa (22 years old, both living in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang) to go to Mr. Hien's house to beat him up.

Late on March 20, Mr. Hien was sitting watching TV at his home in Hoa Cuong Nam ward when Khoa and Hung suddenly rushed in with weapons and slashed him. Mr. Hien's younger brother, Nguyen Dang Sang (24 years old), held a chair up to shield himself and was also slashed in the arm. Mr. Hien's 5-year-old daughter had her leg tendon slashed.

According to the assessment, Mr. Hien suffered 15% injuries, Mr. Sang 12% and Anh 9%. After committing the crime, Hung and Khoa turned themselves in to the police, claiming that Nhan was the mastermind. Recently, the Hai Chau District People's Court sentenced Hung to 4 years in prison and Khoa to 3 years and 6 months in prison for intentionally causing injury.

"We have prosecuted and detained Nhan for three months. The case will be tried in a mobile trial for propaganda and deterrence purposes," Colonel Huong added.
