At around 8:30 p.m. on June 4, a tourist boat carrying many passengers capsized on the Han River in Da Nang City. Rescue forces rescued dozens of people, but many are still missing.
The ship involved in the accident was the Thao Van tourist ship with registration number Dna 0016, owned by Mr. Vo Quoc Hung, piloted by Le Chi Cong, and was believed to be carrying about 50 passengers when it capsized. The location of the accident was determined to be in front of the Novotel Hotel, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.
According to some sources, the boat had just left the dock for 5-10 minutes, heading from Thuan Phuoc Bridge to Dragon Bridge, when it capsized. There are life jackets on the boat, but passengers are often lazy to wear them, and the boat owner rarely reminds them.
