Opened before 1975, this is considered one of the oldest sweet soup shops in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The shop’s sign “Che 4 Mua” is quite easy to spot when passing Hang Can Street. From a very small space at house number 4, the shop expanded to numbers 6 and 8, serving customers continuously from morning until 11pm.

Quán chè Bốn mùa này đã ngót nghét 40 năm tuổi nhưng không ngày nào ngơi khách.
The 4 Seasons Sweet Soup shop is nearly 40 years old but is never without customers.

Coming to the shop in the summer, you can enjoy green bean, black bean, lotus seed and coconut, pearl jelly... In the winter, the shop changes the menu with che ba cot, banh troi tau, luc tau xa... Without many sophisticated ingredients, "4-season sweet soup" is attractive because of the traditional flavor of smooth white banh troi, spicy ginger flavor, soft and fatty lotus seeds but not crushed, smooth green beans but not too thick, sweet and fragrant jasmine tea.

The number of customers at the shop is very stable, whether in winter or summer. In the afternoon, walking around the old town, seeing rows of customers sitting on the sidewalk enjoying delicious cups of tea, many tourists, even though they have not had the chance to hear the name, are curious to stop by and try it.

Không màu mè, cầu kỳ, những cốc chè truyền thống vẫn làm say lòng người Hà Nội và du khách.
Without being flashy or elaborate, traditional cups of tea still captivate Hanoians and tourists.

Hanoi has seen an increase in the number of shops selling Thai desserts, Korean shaved ice, and Japanese rolled ice cream. However, many people still stick to the traditional way of enjoying desserts in a corner of the old town, where there are only simple plastic chairs and inconvenient seating.
