(Baonghean.vn) - Bicycles from the French colonial era are still preserved by some vintage bicycle collectors in Vinh City. Many bicycles only retain their basic details, while a few others remain almost entirely original.

Mr. Ha Giang Son, 56 years old, is a freelancer who currently owns more than 50 vintage bicycles of various types and is considered the person with the most vintage bicycles in Vinh City.

Mr. Son bought back an early model French Peugeot men's motorcycle, manufactured in the early 20th century, for 15 million dong.

This men's Peugeot has almost entirely retained its distinctive features, from the frame, hubs, seat, handlebars, brakes, lights, etc. The front hub still has the original French lettering.

The lamp is numbered 18.

The Peugeot still retains its old license plate. According to Mr. Son, in the past, a Peugeot or Favorite bicycle was a valuable asset. If you rode it on the road without a license plate, you could easily be caught by the police and imprisoned.

Mr. Son said that parts like brakes and brake calipers alone, if bought on the open market, can cost up to 2 million VND. The photo shows the original brake assembly of an early model Peugeot.

The cars in Mr. Chung's collection were acquired from priests. He currently owns three Peugeots: one from 1953, one from 1981, and one from 1991. The photo shows the 1953 Peugeot, which Mr. Chung bought for tens of millions of dong.
