Nghe An strengthens coordination to support business integration

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of June 27, in Vinh City, the Conference “Some issues of institutional reform, integration and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises - Meeting of associations and enterprises in the North Central region” was held by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Attending the conference were Mr. Vu Tien Loc - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Central Council of Vietnam Business Associations, Vice Chairman of the Prime Minister's Advisory Council on Administrative Procedure Reform.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, VCCI Nghe An branch; business associations and enterprises of the North Central provinces.

Overview of the conference

The conference reviewed and evaluated the business performance, support and development work of associations in the North Central region in recent times. In particular, the activities of the Nghe An business community achieved remarkable results; contributing to promoting the socio-economic development in the area.

In the first 6 months of 2016, the province's gross domestic product growth rate reached 6.6%, the industrial production development index increased by 10%, service revenue increased by over 11.6%, goods export turnover increased by over 15%; transportation, telecommunications, banking services... ensured development requirements. Nghe An has attracted a number of large-scale investment projects such as: Song Lam Cement Factory, Phase 2 General Hospital project, Vinpearl Cua Hoi amusement park project, VSIP...

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the role of VCCI as an important bridge between enterprises and the State; contributing to improving the investment and business environment in Nghe An. The development of enterprises has made an important contribution to mobilizing social resources, promoting economic growth, ensuring social security; increasing the province's budget revenue in recent years.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In the coming time, all levels and sectors of Nghe An province will continue to make efforts to remove difficulties and improve the open and equal business environment. At the same time, he hoped that Nghe An province and VCCI would have closer connections, promote the signing of a number of cooperation contents, create conditions for enterprises to promote effective production and business; strive to successfully achieve the socio-economic targets of 2016 and the following years.

Mr. Vu Tien Loc - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry said: VCCI will promote the signing of a number of cooperation agreements with Nghe An province in the coming time, creating conditions for businesses to promote effective production and business.

At the conference, Mr. Vu Tien Loc - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) proposed a number of contents to the provincial leaders: Establishing an investment promotion support agency, a public administration center, associated with the implementation of e-government. Proposing that Nghe An should establish a common representative organization for the business community, increase meetings, information exchange, and dialogue between the government and businesses.

At this forum, delegates discussed and exchanged ideas to remove difficulties and improve the investment environment; difficulties and challenges when Vietnam joins new generation free trade agreements. At the same time, they proposed solutions for linkage and coordination to effectively support the business community in the region to successfully integrate.
