Teachers of Tien Phong Secondary School clean up the campus in preparation for the new school year. |
At Tien Phong Secondary School, since August 1, teachers have been present at the school regularly to clean the campus and paint 16 classrooms and functional rooms. Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, the school principal, said: Tien Phong commune has 25 villages with 3 ethnic groups: Thai, Kinh, and Kho Mu. There are many villages that are 20km away from the school on difficult forest roads such as Xop Sanh and Na Sanh. In addition, Na Chang and Pieng Cu villages also face many difficulties, so the school board is very interested in mobilizing students to go to school. This school year, the whole school has 577 students, an increase of 138 students compared to the previous school year. This is a good sign for the school. To achieve this result, teachers have visited each house to mobilize students in the most remote villages to go to school. Thanks to that, no students have dropped out of school after the summer.

Present at Tri Le 4 Primary School, one of the most difficult schools in the district, teachers, parents and students are excitedly and urgently renovating classrooms, preparing facilities, and cleaning the environment to prepare for the new school year. Tri Le 4 Primary School has 1 main school, in addition to 6 separate schools: Huoi Xai 1, Huoi Xai 2, Huoi Moi 1, Huoi Moi 2 and Nam Tot, all of which are facing many difficulties. There is no electricity, no phone signal, right at the main school, the classrooms are cramped, the walls are broken, the roof is made of wood, the yard is made of dirt... almost everything is makeshift, deteriorating over the years. Mr. Lang Van Nhan, Principal of Tri Le 4 Primary School, said: Although there are still many difficulties such as the school is still makeshift, the traffic between schools, the school to the village is still far and remote, but we have tried our best to overcome them in the shortest time to be ready for the new school year...

In the 2016-2017 school year, the district has a total of 15,854 students at all levels. To implement the plan and targets most effectively, and at the same time prepare for the opening of the new school year 2016-2017, the Department of Education and Training has established 4 delegations to inspect the preparation for the new school year of 46 schools under the management of the Department of Education and Training from August 5-8, 2016. In addition to preparing facilities, reviewing student numbers and finding solutions to mobilize students to go to school. Up to this point, schools in the district have reviewed and mobilized over 92% of students at all levels to go to school. Before the new school year, teachers in Que Phong district have also been fully trained in professional skills for all 3 levels and related subjects organized by the Department. Most of the schools in the district have proactively overcome immediate difficulties, welcoming students to school according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training.
“Located in remote border areas, poor districts have limited budget allocations each year, so it is very difficult to invest in comprehensive education. Therefore, the attention and support from the social community for education in mountainous areas will partly reduce the burden on the locality. Before each new school year, the school must call for support from businesses and organizations inside and outside the district that care about education, and from this source of support, it has reduced the difficulties for many schools,” said Mr. Ho Mau Su - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Que Phong district.
Carrying the confidences of the teachers from Que, we hope that the journey of sowing knowledge in the remote border region will have many more sweet fruits not only in this school year.
