Many billion-dollar farms rely on clubs to help young people start businesses
(Baonghean.vn) - The Do Luong District Youth Entrepreneurship Club was established in March 2014 to encourage union members and young people in the district to start businesses right in their hometown. Up to now, members have had many farm models earning hundreds of millions of VND each year.
Since 2003, the Do Luong District Youth Union has mobilized young people to contribute to the establishment of the District Youth Entrepreneurship Fund, which has so far reached more than 700 million VND to support loans for youth economic models. The establishment of the Youth Entrepreneurship Club has truly promoted the solidarity of rural youth with the same aspirations to develop farm economy.

At the beginning, the Do Luong District Youth Entrepreneurship Club had 27 members, meeting every 3 months, organized on a voluntary basis, and now has 37 members. Joining the club is an opportunity for members to learn more knowledge and skills in building a farm. At the same time, it supports members in developing the farm economy. Since its establishment, 17 members have borrowed 360 million VND from the Youth Entrepreneurship Fund with preferential interest rates.

The club has coordinated with the Policy Bank to set up 2 projects and disbursed 200 million VND from the national employment fund, set up 4 projects worth 200 million VND to send to the province and wait for approval. Coordinated with the Department of Planning and Investment and the Provincial Youth Union to open training courses on business start-up. Thanks to that, the club members have many high-income models of hundreds of millions of VND per year.

Typically, the 10-hectare chicken farm of Mr. Tran Huu Duc in Hamlet 7, Thuan Son Commune has an annual revenue of more than 4 billion VND; the duck farming and egg incubation model of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truc in Dai Son Commune with 2 hectares has an income of 200 - 250 million VND per year.
Most recently, the Dong Tao chicken farming model of Ms. Phan Thi Hoa in Hamlet 7, Bai Son Commune with 500 Dong Tao chickens, annual revenue, from 600 to 700 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Head of the Youth Entrepreneurship Club of Do Luong district said: "In the near future, we will coordinate with the vocational training center, the Department of Agricultural Extension, and the Department of Agriculture to open more science and technology transfer classes, in order to bring efficiency to young people in developing farm economy".
