(Baonghean.vn) - The pilot project "Selection of 600 excellent young intellectuals with enhanced university degrees to become Vice Chairmen of People's Committees of communes in 62 poor districts" (now 64 districts) is nearing its end. Nghe An Newspaper recorded the evaluation opinions of agencies, departments and young intellectuals themselves about the Project.

1. Dr. Vu Dang Minh - Director of Youth Affairs Department, Ministry of Home Affairs

"Over the time of implementing the Project, it can be seen that localities have paid attention and created conditions for team members to access professional work, boldly assigned tasks and trusted, encouraged and motivated young intellectuals to strive and complete their tasks well.

With that attention, combined with the determination to strive, practice and aspiration to contribute of young volunteer intellectuals, I believe that the 600 Commune Vice Chairmen Project will be successful, contributing to perfecting the mechanism and policies to create a source of cadres from practice at the grassroots level."

2. Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee

"Implementing the government's project on appointing young intellectuals as Vice Chairmen of communes in districts 30a, Nghe An has 26 comrades assigned as Vice Chairmen of communes in the three districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong. Nghe An has great confidence in the project, identifying this as a way to train the young generation through practice, while also meeting the urgent immediate requirements for socio-economic development in poor and disadvantaged communes.

Therefore, for localities, it is necessary to truly consider this as their source of staff, to have a plan for training, fostering, accessing resources, programs, plans, and creating opportunities to participate in implementation."

3. Vi Viet Kieu - Vice Chairman of Tam Thai Commune, Tuong Duong District

"As a Vice Chairman of the commune assigned to be in charge of the economic sector in my hometown, I consider it both lucky, honorable, proud and also a responsibility. For a fresh graduate, at a very young age, everything initially encountered many difficulties. Therefore, I worked while studying and boldly proposed new ideas and initiatives to help local people have a more stable economic life.

Besides, the district's staff arrangement for young intellectuals is reasonable, so I feel very secure in contributing and do not worry much about future orientation when the project ends."

4. Pham Trong Hoang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Tuong Duong District Party Committee

"What impresses me most about the young intellectuals is that they are very quick, enthusiastic, persistent, and hard-working, sticking to the people, the land, and the fields. Many effective economic models in Tuong Duong in recent years bear the mark of young intellectuals, such as the model of growing clean and safe vegetables in the communes of Thach Giam, Tam Thai, Yen Hoa, etc.

Currently, in Tuong Duong, the communes that have assigned Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee under Project 600 are all type I communes according to Decree No. 08/2015/ND-CP of the Government (with 02 Vice Chairmen). Therefore, when the Project ends, the project team members will still be among the official Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee. Some team members have been included in the planning of district-level Party Committee members, heads and deputy heads of district-level departments, offices and units. The Project not only helps the local socio-economic development but also creates a breakthrough in personnel work."

5. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union

"With responsibility, enthusiasm, and scientific knowledge, the young volunteer intellectual force has played its role well, standing side by side with the people, eating, living, and working with them, participating in socio-economic development, poverty reduction, improving people's knowledge, and strengthening national defense and security in the area. However, what is the direction for this team after the Project ends? That is the concern of many team members.

Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to pay attention to arranging work for young intellectuals after summarizing the Project, and develop a policy to use young cadres who have grown up from the volunteer young intellectual team."
