Nearly 600kg of pigs infected with foot and mouth disease were destroyed.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 10, at the foot of Nguoc Mountain, the Thanh Chuong District Livestock and Veterinary Station coordinated with the People's Committee of Ngoc Son Commune to destroy 14 pigs infected with foot-and-mouth disease.

Nearly 600 kg of sick pigs were destroyed with lime powder and chemicals.

A representative of the Thanh Chuong District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station said that recently, foot-and-mouth disease has appeared in livestock in the district, specifically in the pigs raised by Mr. Nguyen Dang Nam's family in Hamlet 3, Ngoc Son Commune.

To prevent and control the spread of the disease, authorities and Mr. Nam's family decided to destroy the herd of 14 infected pigs, many of which had died, some were still dying, with a total weight of about 600kg.
