Airbus, the second largest airline in the US (after Boeing), has just revealed the idea of a flying taxi service based on artificial intelligence (AI), according to The Next Web.

Although it may sound unbelievable when Airbus says they will test this model in early 2017. However, Airbus is a famous airline and in fact, current technologies are completely capable of doing it.

Instead of riding on taxis like today, passengers using the flying taxi service will have a seat on a type of unmanned aircraft called zenHop. Airbus plans to build airports dedicated to zenHop operations. From these airports, passengers will fly to their desired destination at a cost equivalent to current taxi services.

To reduce the load on flights, passengers' luggage is transported separately by a service called zenLuggage. In addition, another service called zenCyber will help keep customers' information safe from hackers.

This Airbus plan, codenamed Vahana, is receiving a lot of expectations, although it is not certain whether the final product will have a similar design to the sketch above.

Airbus said it has been working on the project for two years now, and according to a recent press release, the project will soon become a reality without waiting for regulatory changes.
