(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 21, the People's Committee of Nghia Khanh Commune (Nghia Dan) solemnly organized the 5th Tru Village Banyan Tree Festival in 2016. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

| Along with Ru Am Cave (Nghia Duc Commune), Tru Village Banyan Tree was recognized as a Revolutionary Monument by the Provincial People's Committee in 2012. On August 22, 1945, implementing the General Uprising Order of the Viet Minh Front, thousands of people raised high the flag, shouted revolutionary slogans, marched to the district capital, arrested the district chief, seized the seal and declared the establishment of the Provisional People's Committee and the District Viet Minh Front Committee, taking power into the hands of the people. In particular, the red flag with a five-pointed yellow star flew on the top of the Tru Vinh Lai village banyan tree (now Nghia Khanh Commune), marking a new milestone in the historical process of Nghia Khanh Commune and the entire Nghia Dan District. |
