Super typhoon Meranti is approaching the South China Sea.
Forecasts indicate that over the next 24 hours, Super Typhoon Meranti will move in a west-northwest direction at a speed of approximately 20 km per hour.
As of 13:00 on September 14th, the center of Typhoon Meranti was located in the northeastern part of the South China Sea. The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon reached level 17, with gusts exceeding level 17.

Over the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm is likely to change direction, moving northwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h. By 13:00 on September 15th, the storm's center will be located over land east of Guangdong province (China). The strongest winds near the storm's center will reach level 13 (135-150 km/h), with gusts of level 15-16.
Due to the influence of the storm, from the morning of September 14th, the northeastern part of the East Sea experienced increasingly strong winds, reaching levels 10-14, and levels 15-17 near the storm's center, with gusts exceeding level 17. The sea was extremely rough.
Over the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move northwest at a speed of approximately 10 km per hour.
