Young woman 'set a trap' for 3 foreign tourists so her accomplices could rob them of their money

Following Thanh's orders, the 16-year-old girl invited a group of tourists to go for a massage, took them to a restaurant to eat, and then ambushed them and robbed them of all their money.

On August 23, District 5 Police (HCMC) arrested 5 people in a gang led by Nguyen Van Thanh (47 years old) to investigate the act of robbery.

Previously, Thanh's group planned to "trap" foreign tourists to the entertainment venue and then organize a robbery.

Two days ago, Thanh drove a 16-year-old Western girl around the center of Saigon looking for "bait". Seeing 3 Malaysian young men, he stopped the car for the girl to approach and flirt with them.

After a while of laughing and chatting happily, the young woman invited 3 foreign tourists to get in a taxi to go drinking and get a massage, then took them to a restaurant in District 5. While everyone was eating and drinking, Thanh and 3 men suddenly rushed in, shouted, threatened to beat, and chased the young woman and all the flight attendants out.

Thanh's group then controlled and searched the victims and took nearly 4,000 Ringgit (more than 21 million VND). However, as soon as they stepped out the door, they were arrested by District 5 criminal detectives along with their female accomplice.

Police are expanding the investigation into the case, suspecting Thanh's group has carried out many similar operations.
