Giving gifts to 300 poor students in Ky Son from money from selling sugarcane juice
(Baonghean.vn) - A group of volunteer students from Vinh University recently visited and gave gifts to disadvantaged students in the border commune of Keng Du Ky Son.The total value of the gifts is nearly 25 million VND - the amount donated by the group members themselves from the money they earned from selling sugarcane juice this past summer.

With the theme "Charity connects to give love, receive smiles", the volunteer group gave 300 school bags, 600 pens, 600 notebooks and some school supplies to over 300 poor students in Keng Du commune.

Keng Du is a border commune, the most difficult in Ky Son, the commune is over 70 km from the district center, nearly 100% of the population in the commune are Khmu people. In recent years, thanks to the attention and investment of the Party and the State, infrastructure such as schools and stations have been solidified, but due to low education level, natural conditions, difficult transportation, and backward farming methods, the rate of poor and hungry households in Keng Du is still high at over 95%.
