Roads from people's power in Con Cuong town

(Baonghean.vn) - By being flexible and suitable to local realities, the Party Committee, government and organizations of Con Cuong town have mobilized resources and people's strength to participate in building new rural areas.

Block 5 is one of the leading units in the movement to build new rural roads in Con Cuong town. A typical example is the family of Mr. Nguyen Tat Hong, although he is 78 years old this year, the two of them live together thanks to their pensions, but when they heard the policy of expanding and upgrading internal roads, they happily took the lead in dismantling 15m of fence and donating 12m2 of land for the block to build roads. Or like Ms. La Thi An's family, in addition to dismantling nearly 20m of new wall built at the end of 2015, they also voluntarily donated 10m2 of land and contributed electricity and water to serve the concrete pouring.

Ms. La Thi An shared: “Building roads is first of all to serve me, then to contribute to building a more civilized town. As a party member, I need to set an example for the masses to follow. Therefore, my family is very sympathetic and supportive of the bloc's work.”

Thanks to the good propaganda and mobilization work, households in Block 5 have donated over 462 square meters of land and over 800 meters of fences, architectural structures, and hundreds of valuable fruit trees and ornamental plants. In addition, each household also contributed 2.6 million VND to buy raw materials to concretize the entire traffic system of the block; contributed electricity, water, and light meals to encourage the construction team when the project reached their family gate. Up to this point, 6/8 roads of the block have been completed, the remaining 2 routes are expected to be completed in September.

In block 9, 4/6 residential groups of the block mobilized people to contribute money to buy sand and gravel, voluntarily dismantled 200m of fence, donated 60m2 of land, hundreds of fruit trees, timber trees of all kinds and contributed working days to build roads. Up to now, the whole block has built more than 900m of new concrete roads within the block... In addition, households also agreed to contribute 1.6 million VND each, especially in residential group 5 of the block, each household contributed 6 million VND.

The roads in Con Cuong town are spacious and clean.

Ms. Lu Thi Le Hang - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong town said: "To ensure the progress of construction and upgrading of the road and canal system within the block and town, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the town clearly assign specific responsibilities to each member, proactively follow up and coordinate with the blocks in the implementation organization.

In addition, the town also supports the blocks in the design documents and through the loudspeaker system to propagate the purpose and meaning of the new rural road construction program, promptly praising typical advanced individuals in the new rural construction movement. Thanks to the good implementation of the grassroots democracy regulations associated with the "skillful mass mobilization" work, a vibrant competitive atmosphere has been created throughout the whole town. Thanks to that, up to now, the whole town has completed 4,943m of intra-village roads, reaching 62.2%".

Believing that, when the Party's will is in line with the people's will, Con Cuong town will successfully implement the goals set out in the Resolution of the 8th Town Party Congress, worthy of being the political, economic, cultural and social center of Con Cuong district.
