Roads built by the people in Con Cuong town.

(Baonghean.vn) - By adopting flexible approaches that suit local realities, the Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of Con Cuong town have mobilized resources and the people's strength to participate in building new rural areas.

Block 5 is one of the leading units in the new rural road construction movement in Con Cuong town. A prime example is the family of Mr. Nguyen Tat Hong. Although he is 78 years old and lives on his pension, upon hearing about the plan to expand and upgrade the block's internal roads, he and his wife happily took the lead in dismantling 15 meters of their fence and donating 12 square meters of land for the block to build the road. Similarly, Ms. La Thi An's household, in addition to dismantling nearly 20 meters of newly built wall (constructed at the end of 2015), voluntarily donated 10 square meters of land and contributed electricity and water to facilitate the concrete pouring.

Ms. La Thi An shared: “Building roads is primarily for our own benefit, and secondly, it contributes to making the town more civilized. As a Party member, I need to set an example for the people to follow. Therefore, my family fully agrees with and supports the work of the neighborhood committee.”

Thanks to effective propaganda and mobilization efforts, households in Block 5 have donated over 462 square meters of land and over 800 meters of fences and structures, along with hundreds of valuable fruit trees and ornamental plants. In addition, each household contributed 2.6 million VND to purchase materials for the concrete paving of the entire road system in the block; they also contributed electricity, water, and light meals to encourage the construction crew when the project reached their family's gate. To date, 6 out of 8 roads in the block have been completed, with the remaining 2 expected to be finished in September.

In Block 9, 4 out of 6 residential groups mobilized residents to contribute money to buy sand and gravel, voluntarily dismantle 200m of fences, donate 60m2 of land, hundreds of fruit trees and timber trees of various kinds, and contribute labor to build roads. To date, the entire block has built more than 900m of new concrete roads within the block... In addition, households also unanimously contributed 1.6 million VND each, especially in residential group number 5, where each household contributed 6 million VND.

The roads in Con Cuong town are now well-maintained and clean.

Ms. Lu Thi Le Hang, Deputy Secretary and Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong town, said: "To ensure the progress of the construction and upgrading of the internal roads and canals within the town, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the town have clearly assigned specific responsibilities to each member, proactively monitoring and coordinating with the various groups in the implementation."

Furthermore, the town also supports the blocks in the design documents and, through the public address system, disseminates information about the purpose and significance of the new rural road construction program, promptly commending exemplary individuals in the new rural construction movement. Thanks to the effective implementation of grassroots democracy regulations combined with skillful "people mobilization" work, a vibrant atmosphere of emulation has been created throughout the town. As a result, to date, the entire town has completed 4,943 meters of internal village roads, reaching 62.2% of the target.

We are confident that, when the Party's will aligns with the people's aspirations, Con Cuong town will successfully achieve the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 8th Town Party Congress, deserving to be the political, economic, cultural, and social center of Con Cuong district.
