Nghe An: Construction of 4 seaports in Cua Lo and Nghi Thiet.

(Baonghean.vn) – According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province: From Cua Lo to Nghi Thiet, Nghe An will build a cluster of four seaports: Cua Lo port, Cua Lo deep-water port, Vissai port, and the DKC oil and gas port located north of Nui Rong mountain, Nghi Thiet commune.

According to the latest plan for seaports in Nghe An province, the province will develop the following specific seaports:

1.The Cua Lo Port currently has a detailed construction plan at a scale of 1/2000 approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 37/2016. Its function is to be a general port area, meeting the import and export needs of businesses in Nghe An province and neighboring provinces in the North Central region, as well as some transit goods from Laos and Northeast Thailand. The total planned area is 450 hectares. Currently, Tuan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company is implementing the investment project for berths No. 5 and No. 6.

2.The second port is the Cua Lo deepwater port, located north of Cua Lo port, invested in by the International Transport Development Investment Joint Stock Company (ITID), covering an area of ​​750 hectares, but construction has not yet begun.

3.The third port is Vissai Port, serving the cargo transportation needs of The Vissai Group. It will accommodate a fleet of ships ranging from 3,000 to 70,000 DW, handling the group's 9 million tons of cement by 2020. The investor is currently accelerating construction.

4.The fourth port is the DKC oil and gas port, connected to the DKC oil and gas storage facility, with Thien Minh Duc Joint Stock Company as the investor. The Provincial People's Committee approved the adjustment of the planning in Decision No. 126/2016. The investor is currently implementing the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.

Additionally, there is the Dong Hoi port in Hoang Mai. According to Decision No. 838 dated April 28, 2011, of the Ministry of Transport, the Dong Hoi port area in Quynh Luu district (Nghe An province) is included in the planning of seaport group No. 2, with an area of ​​nearly 1,100 hectares, including both land and water areas.
