Nghe An: Building 4 seaports in Cua Lo and Nghi Thiet
(Baonghean.vn) – News from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said: From Cua Lo to Nghi Thiet, Nghe An will build a port cluster including 4 seaports: including Cua Lo port, Cua Lo deep-water port, Vissai port and DKC petroleum port in the North of Dragon Mountain, Nghi Thiet commune.

According to the latest planning on seaports in Nghe An, the province will deploy specific seaports:
1.Cua Lo Port is currently approved by the Provincial People's Committee for detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/2000 in Decision No. 37/2016, with the function of a general port area, meeting the import and export needs of goods for businesses in Nghe An province and neighboring provinces in the North Central region, and a part of transit goods from Laos and Northeast Thailand. The total planning area is 450 hectares. Currently, Tuan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company is implementing the investment project of berths No. 5 and No. 6.
2.The second port is Cua Lo deep-water port, a port north of Cua Lo port invested by International Transport Development Investment Joint Stock Company (ITID), with an area of 750 hectares, and is currently not under construction.
3.The third port is Vissai port serving the cargo transportation of The Vissai group, will receive a fleet of 3000-70,000 DW ships, serving the transportation of 9 million tons of cement of this group in 2020. Currently, the investor is rushing to construct.
4.The fourth port is the DKC petroleum port connected to the DKC petroleum depot, invested by Thien Minh Duc Joint Stock Company, approved by the Provincial People's Committee for planning adjustment in Decision No. 126/2016. The investor is currently implementing the project and is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
There is also Dong Hoi port in Hoang Mai. According to approval decision No. 838 dated April 28, 2011 of the Ministry of Transport, Dong Hoi port area in Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) is in the planning of seaport group No. 2, with an area of nearly 1,100 hectares, including land and water areas.
