(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 22, the Military Party Committee of Nghe An province successfully held a conference to issue a resolution on leading the implementation of tasks for the last six months of 2016.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee, chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were delegates from the Political Department of Military Region 4; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Ha Tan Tien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, along with other members of the Provincial Military Party Committee.

Overview of the conference.

In the first six months of 2016, the Provincial Military Party Committee focused on leading and directing the successful completion of local military and national defense tasks, with many tasks being completed exceptionally well. Notable examples include leading agencies and units under the Provincial Armed Forces to successfully complete training and combat readiness tasks; proactively coordinating with local Party committees and authorities, as well as police and border guard forces, to closely monitor the situation and ensure security in the area.

In addition, they promptly advised and proposed to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on handling incidents that occurred, especially before, during and after the 12th National Party Congress, the Lunar New Year of the Monkey 2016, and the elections of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term.

In addition, the recruitment of young men for military service in 2016 was carried out effectively, with 2,900 young men enlisting (achieving 100% of the target); a ceremony was organized to welcome and bury 65 remains of martyrs brought back from Laos at the Do Luong District Martyrs' Cemetery, ensuring solemnity and proper rituals; the construction of defense works in the province was supervised and inspected to ensure progress and quality; and Directive 03 was effectively implemented through the "Saving for oneself, giving to those in need" movement.

At the same time, we will closely coordinate with local authorities to implement the "Nghe An Armed Forces joining forces to build new rural areas" movement.

Provincial leaders and the Provincial Military Command received and buried the remains of volunteer soldiers returning from Laos to their homeland.

At the conference, after discussing and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses in leading political tasks during the first six months of the year, the Provincial Military Party Committee issued a Resolution on leading tasks for the last six months of 2016.

The conference emphasized that, building on the achievements, the Provincial Military Party Committee needs to focus on leading and directing agencies and units to successfully complete local military and national defense tasks in 2016. In particular, special attention should be paid to effectively implementing key tasks such as organizing the study and thorough understanding of the content of the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, especially the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress; and continuing to implement Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (11th term) in conjunction with implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on promoting "study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style."

The armed forces of Nghe An province are practicing regional defense plans.

Specifically, maintaining strict training and combat readiness of the provincial armed forces; coordinating with other forces to thoroughly understand the local area and promptly handle any incidents; directing the successful completion of the defense zone exercises in Que Phong district and Cua Lo town, the disaster prevention and rescue exercise in Tan Ky district, the command and staff exercise of agencies and units, the defense exercise on two islands, and the comprehensive exercise with live firing by Regiment 764; advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Project "Construction of a number of key combat structures in the defense zone of Nghe An province in the period 2016 - 2021"; gradually improving the quality of the defense zone to meet the requirements of the mission in the new situation.
