(Baonghean) -In recent years, Nghi Phu 2 Primary School has made efforts in building facilities, training staff, improving teaching and learning quality, becoming one of the few schools in the whole province to meet National standards at level 2.

Separated from Nghi Phu Secondary School in 1992 with many difficulties and shortages (lack of teachers, poor facilities, outdated teaching equipment...) but with the determination of teachers and students, the encouragement of all levels, sectors and localities, the school has overcome difficulties and become a good school of the city. In 2006, the school was recognized as meeting National standards level 1. In 2009, the school established a roadmap to build a school meeting National standards level 2.

The first step is to complete the facilities in a modern and synchronous direction. In 2009, with the support of Nghi Phu Commune People's Committee and contributions from the people, the school invested more than billions of VND to build functional rooms, dining halls, upgrade and renovate sanitary facilities, school grounds... Currently, the school has 12 high-rise classrooms, each with an area of 56 square meters, fully equipped with lighting, fans and teaching aids. The school is equipped with a computer room with 20 computers connected to the internet to meet the needs of teaching information technology to students, creating conditions for them to solve Math and English problems online; a music room with 10 Organs, 1 piano; 2 projectors to serve teaching with electronic lesson plans. In particular, the school's sports complex has full functional buildings and a stadium. It can be said that this is a great effort of a school in a suburban commune with many difficulties.

Along with that, the school pays attention and focuses on training and improving the qualifications of the teaching staff. Every year, in addition to creating conditions for teachers to participate in professional training courses according to regulations, the school also encourages teachers to self-study and improve their qualifications; at the same time, directs professional groups to diversify their activities, increase class observation, visit classes and give comments and evaluate each teacher's teaching demonstrations. Of the 26 teachers, 100% have qualified qualifications, 95% have above-standard qualifications, 1 teacher is a national-level excellent teacher, 1 is a provincial-level excellent teacher and 5 teachers are recognized as good teachers at the city level; 64% are school-level excellent teachers; 50% of teachers are proficient in using computers and accessing the internet...

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the quality requirement of a school that meets the standard of level 2 must have 65% or more of the students achieving the title of excellent and advanced students and no more than 1% of weak students. To achieve that criterion, the school's Board of Directors met to discuss and propose solutions to limit the rate of weak students and improve the quality of teaching. The school organized separate meetings for parents of weak children, coordinated with parents in urging, tutoring and creating conditions for their children to study; organized free tutoring classes for weak students taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers. On the other hand, the school also has a priority policy, encouraging poor students to make progress in their studies. After two years of persistent implementation, up to now, the rate of weak students in the school has decreased to 0.3%, the rate of students moving up to the next grade has reached 99.7%, of which good and excellent students account for 86.2%.

With those efforts, for many consecutive years the school has achieved the title of advanced labor collective, in the 2010-2011 school year, it was ranked excellent at the provincial level, and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a cultural unit... On the occasion of November 20 this year, the 20th anniversary of its establishment, the school was honored to receive the title of National Standard School Level 2. Teacher Pham Thi Hong Ai, Principal of the school, said: "Being recognized as National Standard Level 2 is an honor but also puts the school in front of new responsibilities and challenges. With the active support of parents and the attention of local authorities, the school will strive to teach well, study well, and affirm its reputation with the quality of teaching...".
