Strengthening the mass mobilization work of the militia and self-defense forces in the new situation

(Baonghean) -This morning, August 26, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 773/2001/CT/QP of the Ministry of National Defense on promoting the mass mobilization work of the militia and self-defense force in the new situation.

Comrades: Thai Van Hang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Bui Hoai Thanh - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command chaired the conference.

Nghe An is a large province with a nearly 420 km long Vietnam-Laos border, an important strategic position in terms of socio-economics, national defense and security of Military Region IV and the whole country. After the issuance of Directive No. 773/2001/CT-QP of the Ministry of National Defense on promoting the mass mobilization work of the militia and self-defense force in the new situation, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has focused on thoroughly grasping and proposing policies and measures for effective leadership, direction and implementation to promote mass mobilization work in the militia and self-defense force. Thanks to that, more and more effective models of mass mobilization of the militia and self-defense force at the grassroots level have appeared, especially the work of propagating and mobilizing people to implement the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws; building and improving the effectiveness of the political system at the grassroots level; consolidating national defense and security, maintaining political stability, social order and safety. Coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front, departments, branches, organizations and forces to grasp the situation, actively develop the socio-economy, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, prevent and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, campaigns, implement military rear policies... The militia and self-defense force has truly become the core force on the spot, a tool to protect the Party, the government and the lives and property of the people.

Comrade Thai Van Hang awarded certificates of merit to units with high achievements.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Thai Van Hang highly appreciated the mass mobilization work of the armed forces in general and the militia and self-defense force in particular in the past time. All levels and sectors need to continue to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness of the viewpoints on mass mobilization work, strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities, the coordination of departments, sectors, organizations and the advisory role of military agencies at all levels, organize well field trips, establish working groups to difficult and special areas, promote economic development, maintain national defense and security. Strengthen knowledge and professional training, supplement the organization and staffing of the militia and self-defense force, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order and safety in the province.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting the mass mobilization work of the militia and self-defense force over the past 10 years; the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 14 collectives and individuals.
