More than 4,300 students compete in the 2015 national excellent student selection exam
On the morning of January 8, the national exam for excellent students will open, starting the competition of 4,356 students nationwide.
Head of the Examination Department, Department of Examination and Education Quality Assessment (Ministry of Education and Training) Nguyen Duy Kha said that this year's national examination for excellent students will be held from January 8 to 10. 70 units have registered to take part in the examination (including provinces and specialized schools under universities) with 12 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, IT, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French and Chinese.

This year, more than 4,350 students nationwide took the exam, held in 356 exam rooms in the provinces. 1,200 invigilators were mobilized to supervise the exam, including teachers from specialized schools and high school teachers, arranged according to the principle of having at least teachers from two other units to supervise the exam at a third unit.
The number of students taking the exam in the following subjects: Math 460, Physics 440, Chemistry 484, Biology 480, IT 394, Literature 454, History 434, Geography 434, English 474, Russian 69, French 169 and Chinese 64. Hanoi has the largest number of candidates with 169, followed by Hai Phong 104 and Nghe An 102.
On January 8, candidates will take written tests in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, and Chinese. Students taking the IT test will have to program on a computer. The test will last 180 minutes.
On January 9, students will continue to take written exams in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Computer Science will take programming exams and Foreign Languages will take oral exams. On January 10, students taking Physics, Chemistry, and Biology exams will take a 90-minute practical exam. For the oral exam, each student will have 10 minutes, with 5 minutes for preparation and 5 minutes for speaking.
"The results of the national excellent student exam will be announced before Tet. After that, students with high results will be selected to participate in another exam to select teams to compete in regional and international Olympic competitions in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and IT," said Mr. Kha.
