On March 10, in an English-language statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the country's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea threatened to mercilessly punish South Korean activists for damaging the dignity of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un during a mass rally.

This is the latest series of criticisms from Pyongyang aimed at Seoul.

The harsh words came after a conservative activist in Seoul trampled on a portrait of Kim Jong-Un at a rally, while others burned paper North Korean flags.

The committee called the rally a grave provocation and an unforgivable heinous crime. “The provocateurs who committed the heinous crime of daring to hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) can never continue to exist,” the statement said.

The committee also said the North Korean military has shown its determination to wipe out those who provoke the dignity of the North Korean supreme leader.
