Ao Dai-Hanbok Fashion Show Festival in Hanoi

On the afternoon of September 8, the Korean Embassy organized a Hanbok performance. This is a special cultural event held for the first time in Hanoi, during the State visit of Korean President Park Geun-hye to Vietnam.

Vietnamese and Korean models showcased 34 ao dai sets by two Vietnamese designers, Si Hoang and Lan Huong, along with 34 hanbok sets by 17 Korean designers.

The traditional Vietnamese ao dai and hanbok, with their bold traditional style, combined with modern Korean style, created a colorful and impressive program.

The collection “Royal Dynasty” by designer Si Hoang shows the solemnity and splendor of the royal ao dai, the strong resilience of the Vietnamese people through the motifs of fire phoenix and sun on silk background. Meanwhile, the ao dai by designer Lan Huong brings a gentle traditional beauty.

The traditional hanbok costumes were performed for the first time in Vietnam, conveying the beauty of Korean culture and people to the Vietnamese people.

The collection of hanbok presented this time is quite rich and diverse, from simple, elegant everyday wear to elaborate costumes used in important events. From hanbok for young girls to hanbok for married women, hanbok for common people, hanbok reserved for royalty... The traditional designs and symbols have brought an in-depth look at Korean culture.

Speaking at the program, President Park Geun Hye said that the traditional fashion show between Vietnam and Korea demonstrated the friendship between the two countries, opening up a future of hope to move forward together through beautiful colors, emotions and lines.

Containing harmony and refinement, splendor and sophistication, familiarity and nature, future and hope, the first Ao Dai-Hanbok show held in Hanoi will maintain an important relationship, contributing to the development of the relationship between Vietnam and Korea in the near future./.
