Congratulating the Deputy Prime Ministers and Government members approved by the National Assembly, the new Prime Minister said that this is an honor and also a great responsibility for the members before the Party, the country and the people.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested the new apparatus to focus on discussing a number of urgent issues, including immediately solving drought and saltwater intrusion; resolving difficulties of businesses; promoting economic development due to severe natural disasters; and solving pressing social issues such as food safety.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave a directive speech at the first meeting of the new Government.

"The Government will not back down, determined to remove difficulties and barriers to development; gradually push back corruption and negativity, improve discipline and law, and prevent corruption and negativity from spreading...", the Prime Minister emphasized.

According to the Government leader, to achieve the set goals requires Government members to constantly strive, "dare to do, dare to take responsibility".

The head of the Government directed the Ministry of Planning and Investment to study the procedures and regulations on ODA capital and public investment, and to find stronger solutions to create an investment and business environment. The State Bank should grasp the bad debt situation in a practical way, including the safety of the monetary system. The Ministry of Finance should pay more attention to fiscal and budget policies; inspect and report on the use of public assets to see if there is waste or loss. The Ministry of Information and Communications should give specific instructions on the construction of an e-Government in the coming time.

“Government members must work with a creative spirit, focusing on proposing stronger mechanisms and policies, creating resources for development. Whatever hinders must be eliminated immediately, and whatever is beneficial to the people must be implemented with effort,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Previously, authorized by the President, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc handed over the appointment decisions of deputy prime ministers, ministers, and heads of sectors to the new Government members whose positions were approved by the National Assembly.
