Hoang Mai begins shrimp harvest season

The total shrimp farming area of ​​the first crop of Hoang Mai town this year is nearly 400 hectares, mainly concentrated in communes and wards such as Quynh Xuan, Quynh Lien, Quynh Di, Mai Hung, Quynh Loc and Quynh Lap. The shrimp output of the first crop of the whole town is expected to reach 1,500 tons.

Mr. Nguyen Van Su, Xuan An parish, Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town, said: In the first crop this year, he has released nearly 400,000 shrimp. Up to this point, the shrimp are 45 days old, weighing 150 shrimp/kg, healthy and growing well. If the weather is favorable, in about 1 month, the shrimp will be harvested, weighing 80-100 shrimp/kg, yielding about 5 tons, according to the market price this year, he will earn at least nearly 1 billion VND, net profit 400 million VND.

Currently, Quynh Xuan ward has about 95 hectares of industrial shrimp farming area, the largest in the town. According to a report from the local agricultural sector, this year shrimp have less diseases and are easier to raise than in previous years, with an expected yield of 3.5-3.7 tons/ha, and the total output of shrimp farms in the ward is estimated at 350 tons.
