Quy Hop: Memorial service and burial of martyrs' remains

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 25, at the Martyrs Cemetery of Quy Hop district, Quy Hop town held a memorial service and buried the remains of martyr Vi Van Phuong, rank of sergeant, former deputy squad leader of Battalion 1, Regiment 31, Division 2.

Comrade Vi Van Phuong was born in 1948, originally from Chau Thai commune, Quy Hop district, a Thanh ethnic person, enlisted in 1965, assigned to Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 31, Division 341.

In October 1967, Comrade Vi Van Phuong was assigned to the 2nd Division to prepare for the Mau Than campaign. He heroically sacrificed himself on February 6, 1968 at the southern front. His grave was buried at the martyrs' cemetery in Hoa Phuoc commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. To date, in accordance with the wishes of his family, the remains of martyr Vi Van Phuong have been brought back to his hometown.
