Yen Xuan road bridge officially opened to traffic

(Baonghean.vn) - Yen Xuan Road Bridge - the bridge connecting the two banks of Lam River has officially opened to traffic. Thousands of people from Nam Dan and Hung Nguyen districts came to witness this meaningful event.

On the afternoon of September 3, at Hung Xa commune, Hung Nguyen district, the Ministry of Transport, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Construction Corporation 4 (Cienco4) held a ceremony to open the Yen Xuan road bridge across the Lam River.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Sinh Hung - Former Politburo member, Former Chairman of the National Assembly; comrades of the Party Central Committee: Ho Duc Phoc - State Auditor General, Nguyen The Ky - General Director of the Voice of Vietnam; comrade Le Doan Hop - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Former Minister of Information and Communications.

On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were comrades: Le Dinh Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ha Tinh province; Dang Quoc Khanh - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Quang Huy, Nguyen Van Thong and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of Nghe An province through the periods, leaders of departments and branches of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and a large number of people of Nam Dan and Hung Nguyen districts.

Construction started on October 2, 2015, after 11 months of construction with the day and night efforts of the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 - JSC (Cienco4) and Tuan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, up to now the construction volume at Yen Xuan road bridge has been completed 8 months ahead of schedule, meeting the conditions for opening to traffic and putting into operation.

Yen Xuan road bridge across Lam river is about 2.5km upstream from the current Yen Xuan railway bridge.

The total length of the route is about 3.6km, of which the bridge length is 1.9km and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are about 1.4km.

Yen Xuan Bridge has a total investment of 730 billion VND, with the scale and technical standards of a permanently designed bridge made of reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete; design load HL93; bridge width 9m.

The investment in the construction of the Yen Xuan road bridge across the Lam River is necessary and consistent with the planning of transport development and the locality, gradually improving the transport network of the country in general and Nghe An province in particular, meeting the long-standing wishes of the Party Committee and the people's government of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

The bridge has the meaning of eliminating the "oasis" position of 9 communes in Nam Dan district, Nghe An and 5 communes in Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh during the flood season, ensuring the safety of people's lives in flooded areas and also solving the problem of traffic insecurity, traffic accidents and traffic congestion in the Yen Xuan railway bridge area.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong emphasized the significance of Yen Xuan road bridge in the socio-economic development of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong emphasized that the completion and technical opening of Yen Xuan Road Bridge is of utmost importance. When the bridge is put into use, together with Provincial Road 558, it will connect with the Vinh City bypass of National Highway 1A, becoming a complete regional road network, opening up a trade route between the districts of the two provinces in the economic zone: Nam Nghe - Bac Ha.

The bridge also shortens the distance from Huong Son, Duc Tho districts and Cau Treo border gate of Ha Tinh province to Vinh city, Nghe An province; as well as facilitates timely rescue work when the area is flooded during the rainy and stormy season; reduces the load on Ben Thuy bridge, creates conditions to promote socio-economic development, ensures security in the area; at the same time, helps Nghe An province build and develop synchronous and gradually modernized traffic infrastructure in the spirit of Resolution 26 of the Politburo.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of the investor and contractor in implementing the project; exceeding the schedule, ensuring the quality of the project; and the support and consensus of the people in the affected area of ​​the project.

People are excited about the official opening ceremony.

Many elderly people were brought by their children and grandchildren to see the bridge, the dream of many generations.

In order for the project to be put into effective use, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Hung Nguyen and Nam Dan districts to propagate and disseminate to local people to comply with the Road Traffic Law, protect and preserve infrastructure during exploitation and use, so that the project can be most effective, serving the increasing transportation and travel needs of people on the route.

The Provincial People's Committee commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the construction of Yen Xuan road bridge.

In recognition of the efforts of collectives and individuals in overcoming difficulties in building Yen Xuan road bridge, on this occasion, 4 collectives and 8 individuals were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The opening ceremony of Yen Xuan road bridge is a practical event to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to serve the people and students going to school on the occasion of the new school year opening.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and the central working delegation planted a souvenir tree at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
