Income of 400 million VND per year from raising chickens and frogs
(Baonghean.vn) - With an income of over 400 million VND in net profit each year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh in Ke May village, Cam Son commune, Anh Son district (Nghe An) became a millionaire thanks to raising frogs and chickens.
In 2012, by chance, she learned about frog farming through TV. Quynh discussed with her family about investing in buying 35,000 frogs to try raising the first batch. However, due to unstable output, she stopped raising frogs for meat and switched to investing in breeding frogs. Currently, her family has 9 frog ponds with an area of nearly 30 square meters. In the pond, there are currently 21 pairs of breeding frogs, over 3,000 frogs.
In 2015 alone, Ms. Quynh sold 15,000 frog breeds to farmers in districts in the province such as Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Do Luong... to develop commercial livestock farming.

According to Ms. Quynh, raising frogs is also a laborious task, but if you master the methods and techniques, this profession will easily bring in great profits. Depending on the number of frogs raised, there will be a large or small tank area, a suitable bamboo frame, and regular water treatment to ensure nutrition.
The most important thing in the breeding process is choosing the time for frogs to mate and reproduce. That is the period from March to April, with showers, moderate temperature and humidity. When the young are born, it is necessary to choose nutritious food. Every day should feed about 4 - 5 times for them to grow healthily.
Not satisfied with what had been achieved, in 2013, the family boldly invested in building 9 rows of houses to raise egg-laying chickens and commercial chickens with an area of 350m2. Of which, 4 rows of cages with 1,000 egg-laying chickens, each day the family collects an average of 300-400 eggs.
To meet the livestock needs in the area, she invested in buying a chicken incubator to supply to people in the surrounding area.

Depending on the number of frogs, the tank area should be large or small, and the bamboo frame should be placed appropriately. In addition, the water source should be treated regularly to ensure nutrition. |
In addition, taking advantage of the large hilly land, her family also focuses on raising commercial chickens. Currently, her family's farm always maintains 10,000 commercial chickens. The closed-house system is built according to standards, ensuring ventilation, and the breeding area is regularly cleaned and disinfected. Excluding investments in breeding animals, animal feed and other expenses, each year from the model of raising frogs and chickens, her family earns a profit of 400-450 million VND/year.

Bold, daring, diligent in exploring, learning and researching new things, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh has become a shining example of farmers overcoming difficulties to become rich in Cam Son. Her family's livestock model is typical in the commune and is often visited by delegations to learn from its experience.
