(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City Police are verifying a theft case involving using nails to puncture car tires and then taking advantage of the car owner's carelessness to 'steal' hundreds of millions of dong.

Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on September 8, Ms. Nguyen Thi H. (born in 1972, residing in Hung Dung Ward, Vinh City) was driving her car home. When she reached Nguyen Duc Canh Street (Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City), she saw strange signs in her car, suspected to be a flat tire.

Ms. H. quickly pulled her car to the side of the road and got out to check when two young men on a motorbike sped up, quickly opened the passenger door and took her bag. Ms. H. then reported the incident to Vinh City police.

According to Ms. H.'s report, the amount of money the subjects stole was more than 100 million VND. Ms. H. had just withdrawn this amount from the bank.

Immediately after the incident, Vinh City Police informed the police of wards and communes in the area to inform people about the new tricks of thieves to prevent them.

Currently, the police are verifying and clarifying the incident.
