(Baonghean.vn) - On September 14, the campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton announced that she will meet with world leaders next week at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

According to spokesman Nick Merrill, Clinton is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The meeting will take place a week after Clinton had to cancel a campaign event in California due to illness.

Clinton criticized her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, saying he was unqualified to be Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. military. Her campaign also frequently highlighted the relationship between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The planned meeting would be of significant importance to Ukraine, a country currently in a state of confrontation with Russia following Moscow's annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.
