(Baonghean.vn) - Concluding the 2016 summer volunteer campaign, the Que Phong District Youth Union mobilized thousands of union members and young people to build nearly 26 km of roads leading to villages.

Youth Union branches have carried out dredging of 8.5 km of irrigation canals in the fields; repaired and restored nearly 17.5 km of inter-village roads; and cleared vegetation and cleaned up the environment along a length of nearly 8 km.

For example, the Tri Le Commune Youth Union mobilized over 1,000 young volunteers to clear 1.5 km of the main road; they also cleared and dredged the irrigation canal system in villages D1 and D2 (Minh Chau) with a total length of 2.5 km…

In addition, with the support and facilitation of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the district leadership, in early August 2016, the Que Phong District Youth Union Standing Committee mobilized more than 800 youth union members and 2 excavators to participate in the district-level youth project to build a road to Muong Long village, Tri Le commune in 2016.

As a result, many sections of the road that had been damaged by landslides were excavated, widened, and leveled, expanding the road corridor by 2.5 - 3m from Na Puc village, Chau Thon commune to Muong Long village, Tri Le commune, with a length of more than 8 km.

These are extremely important transportation projects because many areas in Que Phong district still face significant transportation challenges, especially in remote and isolated villages.
