The pictures show a girl with dark brown skin and braided hair standing in the middle of an aisle choosing laundry detergent. She is shirtless, wearing only a necklace, a goatskin skirt and mud to protect herself from the sun.

"She took me completely by surprise. I was shopping at the local supermarket while filming a documentary about the Himba tribe," Mirror quoted her as saying."The 44-year-old wildlife documentary photographer said.At first she didn't see me, but then she found out what I was doing."

GrandfatherPersson foror Himba women always dress like above, regardless of whether they are in their village or when they go to big modern cities.Their hair and entire bodies are covered with a kind of mud to protect them from the sun. Their clothes are mainly made of goat skin.

""That is their own beauty and tradition, not just for tourists to see or take pictures of like some other tribes," he said.

The Himba are a tribe with an estimated population of 50,000 people, living in the Kunene region of northern Namibia. This tribe still maintains a traditional way of life, mainly raising cattle and growing crops.

Despite the stark contrast, the locals shopping at the supermarket didn't seem to pay much attention to the Himba girl. For them, the presence of natives in stores is normal.

"Locals are so used to it that they don't stare when they see it anymore," he said.Perssonsaid. "She only buys flour, sugar and washing powder. My emotions were mixed between excitement, confusion, joy and a little sadness. The photographs are a testament to the stark clash between the old and traditional world and modern society. For me, it was very stimulating and raised many questions."
