On September 9 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Italian sports car company launched the luxury SUV Levante equipped with a V6 engine, 350 horsepower.

More than 6 months after its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in early March, Maserati's first high-performance SUV has arrived in Vietnam. The design and size of the Levante position it as the closest competitor to the Porsche Cayenne.

The Maserati Levante is based on the chassis of the Quattroporte and Ghibli lines, possessing the dynamic design of an SUV but still has many rounded lines, which are easily found on other Maserati models. The car is 5,003 mm long, 1,968 mm wide and 1,679 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,004 mm. Compared to its German rival Cayenne, the Levante is 149 mm longer but 30 mm narrower and 33 mm lower.

Levante is equipped with slim bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. Large grille and air intakes. If the front end is quite fierce, the rear end is more "gentle". LED taillights, dual chrome exhaust pipes.

The Levante interior is covered in leather and has wood paneling on some details on the dashboard, doors, and around the gear lever. The car offers an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touch screen and 8-speaker sound system.

In Vietnam, the standard Levante version is equipped with a 3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, 350 horsepower at 5,750 rpm, maximum torque of 500 Nm at 4,500 to 5,000 rpm. The S version uses the same engine but has a capacity of 430 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, maximum speed of 264 km/h. Both versions come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 4-wheel drive system.

Levante is distributed in Vietnam with a price of 4.99 billion VND for the standard version and 6.099 billion VND for the S version. Thereby competing with rivals in the mid-size luxury SUV segment of brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Porsche or Lexus.

Maserati's high-performance SUV "evolves" from the Kubang concept first introduced in 2011. The name Levante comes from Via Emilia Levante, the land in Bologna where the Maserati brothers have been building cars since 1919. Levante is produced at the Mirafiori factory in Turin, Italy.
