Regarding this information, Colonel Tran Ngoc Hanh, Director of the Can Tho City Police, affirmed that there was no incident of "police entering people's homes to beat them," but rather that these were forces carrying out their duties.

Previously, social media circulated a video showing police officers searching a private residence. These clips, depicting "police entering people's homes and assaulting them," attracted numerous comments, including negative remarks about the police force.

Earlier, at around 4:30 PM on September 9th, 130 officers from the PC45, PK20, and PC68 departments simultaneously raided 15 locations where illegal lottery operations were taking place in Thanh Quoi, Thanh Tien communes and Vinh Thanh town (Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city).

At 12 locations where illegal lottery tickets were being sold, authorities seized numerous betting slips. At the remaining 3 locations, the suspects quickly destroyed the slips, so no slips were recovered.

At the scene, the police also detained 14 suspects, seized approximately 600 million VND in cash, 21 mobile phones of various types, 60 lottery slips (with a total value of over 300 million VND), and other related evidence.

Before raiding the illegal lottery operation run by Vo Du Dien (residing in Vinh Thanh district), investigators noticed signs of attempts to destroy or dispose of lottery slips, so they raided the premises and caught them red-handed.

At that moment, Dien ran into the house, locked the door, and, holding a knife in both hands, rushed out to stop the police. Dien also shouted, "The police are coming into the house to beat people!" in an attempt to create chaos so that his family could dispose of and destroy the betting slips and other evidence of the crime.

The incident attracted many curious onlookers, who gathered outside Dien's house and filmed it with their phones.

This lottery ring was led by Le Thanh Phuc (40 years old), Do Ngoc Tinh, and Nguyen Son Thien, who organized the buying and selling of lottery numbers.

Regarding this gambling ring, the police have initiated a criminal case, indicting 15 suspects for "organizing gambling and participating in gambling," detaining 10 suspects, imposing travel restrictions on 4 suspects, and issuing an arrest warrant for 1 suspect. The investigation is ongoing and being expanded.
