In an interview with a Hungarian online newspaper, Prime Minister Orban affirmed that the upcoming referendum will demonstrate the will and strength of the Hungarian people against the forced quota policy of European leaders. He said that Hungary cannot accept the EU quota because it directly affects the future of the country and asked all citizens to participate in this vote.
Prime Minister Orban also rejected accusations that the upcoming referendum was being held to cover up political intentions, paving the way for early elections in the country. Prime Minister Orban stressed that Hungary was on the right track and there was no reason to hold early elections.
Also in the interview, Prime Minister Orban suggested that all illegal migrants should be rounded up and moved to refugee camps set up outside the European Union with financial support from the Union. According to Mr. Orban, this is a feasible solution to prevent the wave of migrants entering Europe. He affirmed that the bad situation will continue to recur if the external borders of EU countries are not protected.
Regarding the future of the European Union, Prime Minister Orban said that the links between previous EU members, such as the Eurozone, are not enough and the EU needs to have new links, including a common military force. However, he also does not want a model of the United States of Europe to be formed on this continent./.
