According to the latest poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News, both candidates are receiving equal support at 41%. However, another survey shows Clinton with a 2 percentage point advantage over Trump (Clinton 46% and Trump 44%).
The survey also showed that Clinton's chances of winning the 90-minute debate were 44%, significantly higher than Trump's 34%.
Clinton's campaign manager, Ohn Podesta, believes the 69-year-old former Secretary of State will succeed: "I think that the policies Clinton builds will improve the American economy, helping to create a dynamic economy that benefits everyone, not just the wealthy."
However, Clinton will face a major challenge in dealing with Trump's provocative rhetoric. Hopefully, this time Clinton will not allow Trump to repeat what he did in that manner.
Meanwhile, billionaire Trump's campaign team is also optimistic about recent changes as a large number of American voters have shifted their support to Trump in states such as Florida, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Observers believe this will be a large-scale and dramatic political arena. The record-high viewership this year is due both to the high risk involved and to the fact that this will be a highly entertaining confrontation.
Following this debate, Clinton and Trump will have two more face-to-face debates on October 9th and 19th. Meanwhile, the two vice presidential candidates will only have one live debate on October 4th.
