(Baonghean.vn) - The Netherlands has always been famous for its ambitious projects that amaze and impress people all over the world. It is thought that every country should learn from the Netherlands, at least in implementing the following seven projects.

1.It is the only country with no abandoned pets.

Recently, the Dutch government officially confirmed that there are no longer any abandoned dogs or cats in the country. The government has managed the implementation of this project to avoid harming animals. In many efforts to ensure the rights of dogs, authorities have enacted strict laws against animal abuse.

2.It is the first country in the world to have a solar-powered bicycle lane.

The project, called SolaRoad (Solar Road), is the result of a collaboration between the government, the private sector, and academic institutions. The first section of the road opened in 2015. Although only 100 meters long, it represents a breakthrough for the future of road construction. The main idea behind the project is to use solar energy to illuminate the streets and charge electric vehicles.

3.Every 50 meters along the street, there is a charging station for electric cars.

One of the Netherlands' strengths is its sustainable transport system. Therefore, in an effort to discourage the use of gasoline and diesel cars, many charging stations have been opened on the streets to make it convenient for citizens using electric cars, thereby encouraging more citizens to use electric vehicles.

4.There is a town where not a single car runs on the streets.

The Dutch town of Houten is considered the safest place in the world. In the early 1980s, the town's 4,000 residents decided to encourage everyone in the town to start cycling more often instead of regularly using cars. Gradually, all the residents became accustomed to using bicycles.

5.Consider banning the sale of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.

By 2025, there will be no more gasoline or diesel cars in the Netherlands. In addition, owners of vehicles running on alternative fuels will not have to pay private vehicle tax. As a result, environmentally friendly car owners will save €15,000.

6.Continue closing prisons due to a lack of inmates.

For a long time now, the Dutch government has been taking serious steps to reduce crime in the country, and it has been quite successful. Due to a lack of prisoners, 19 prisons have been closed since 2009. According to recent reports, the incarceration rate is only about 163 per 1000 people, less than half the billion prisoners held in Brazil.

7.There are "ecological crossroads" for wildlife.

Another key task of the Dutch government is the protection of wildlife. Therefore, several "ecological crossroads" have been constructed to allow wildlife living in the forests on either side of the highway to cross safely.
