(Baonghean.vn) - Veteran and war invalid Hoang Van Nguyen in Tho Tien village, Quynh Tho commune (Quynh Luu district) has always had the will to overcome the difficulties and challenges of life to rise up and become legitimately wealthy.

After being discharged from the army and returning to his hometown, Mr. Hoang Van Nguyen was always concerned about how to escape poverty. After several investments in livestock farming and opening a general store, life remained difficult. In 2009, he discussed with his family the possibility of borrowing capital to open a fine art woodworking workshop specializing in the production of religious artifacts on an area of 2,000 square meters.

Veteran Hoang Van Nguyen always maintained close contact with the workers during the work process.

Initially, the workshop faced difficulties in product sales due to limited market demand. Undeterred, he took his products to introduce them to retailers throughout Vietnam, from North to South. At the same time, he sought out localities famous for producing fine wood crafts to learn more.

In addition, he invested in 10 lathes, planers, framers, cutters, and saws, each costing 300 million VND, to produce more refined products. As a result, the beautifully designed products, which suit customer tastes, have attracted orders from many dealers both within and outside the province. To date, the religious artifacts produced by his facility are available throughout the country.

Mr. Hoang Van Nguyen shared: “To meet customer demands, the wood must be dry and free from moisture during production to ensure the finished product is defect-free. In addition, manual processes such as carving, sanding, and electrical work require meticulous attention to detail, so I always closely supervise and guide the workers to ensure proper technique.”

Hiện nay, trong xưởng của ông Nguyện có đến 10 máy tiện, bào, lồng, cắt, cưa xẻ.
Currently, Mr. Nguyen's workshop has as many as 10 lathes, planers, milling machines, cutting machines, and sawing machines.

In recent years, his carpentry workshop has mainly produced items to order, making 200-300 altars for the God of Wealth daily, each priced from 500,000 to 5 million VND. After deducting expenses, he earns a profit of over 200 million VND annually, providing stable employment for 20 local workers with monthly incomes ranging from 4 to 7 million VND.
