Effective livestock models in Nghia Khanh
(Baonghean.vn) - To help farmers sustainably eliminate poverty, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Khanh Commune (Nghia Dan) has developed an action program and has solutions to help members produce and raise livestock effectively.
After many years of hard work and small-scale farming due to lack of capital, the life of Mr. Nguyen Van Ngo's family in Ben Muoi hamlet is still poor. In 2015, with a loan from the District Agricultural Bank, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngo's family in Ben Muoi hamlet invested in building a barn to raise 5 breeding cows, 40 pigs, 30 goats and more than 200 chickens. Thanks to focusing on disease prevention and applying scientific and technological advances, the livestock and poultry grow and develop well, generating an income of over 1 billion VND per year, after deducting expenses, the profit is over 200 million VND.

Mr. Pham Hong Linh in Tan Khanh hamlet has been attached to sugarcane and rice for many years, but his life still cannot escape poverty, so after visiting and learning about some livestock models inside and outside the commune, he decided to invest in raising chickens and ducks for eggs, with a scale of 2,000 chickens and nearly 3,000 ducks for eggs. Thanks to knowing how to care for and prevent diseases, the farm has no outbreaks of disease. Currently, on average, the chickens and ducks produce about 800 eggs per day, with a selling price of 2,000 VND/egg, after deducting expenses, the profit is about 800,000 - 1,200,000 VND. In addition, he has also invested in 5 incubators to provide breeding animals for people in the surrounding area.
From the effectiveness of the chicken and duck egg-laying model of Mr. Pham Hong Linh's family, many households in the commune have come to visit, learn from the experience and follow suit. Thanks to that, Nghia Khanh commune now has many initial conversion models with high economic efficiency; forming many small and medium-sized farms with many rich and diverse forms of production.

Mr. Tran Xuan Hiep - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Khanh Commune said: "The movement of good farmers in production and business in Nghia Khanh Commune has developed relatively evenly. Ben Muoi Hamlet is located far from Hieu River, so the access and implementation of movements by members here is somewhat slower, but Mr. Nguyen Van Ngo's family has known how to take advantage of land, dared to think, dared to do; participated in training courses organized by the association and has been successful. We will continue to promote so that members have the opportunity to study; promote the application of science and technology and convert the structure of crops and livestock to suit the local climate and soil conditions to improve production and livestock efficiency, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in the locality".
Currently, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Khanh Commune is actively disseminating the contents of action programs and resolutions to all members with many specific and practical tasks, especially developing production, eliminating hunger, reducing poverty, and improving people's lives. In the coming time, the Farmers' Association of Nghia Khanh Commune will have many timely incentive and reward policies to motivate people, creating motivation for the movement of farmers competing in production and good business to develop more and more.
