Donated 12 million VND to support impoverished children of fallen soldiers.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 29th, representatives from Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, visited Nghe An Friendship General Hospital to hand over 12 million VND donated by philanthropists, the Red Cross, the Fatherland Front Committee, and the local authorities to support Ms. Phan Thi Phuong from Hamlet 4, Hoa Thanh commune, who is undergoing surgery there.
Ms. Phan Thi Phuong, born in 1957, is the daughter of martyr Phan Trong Cuong, who died in 1965. Ms. Phuong and her daughter have a difficult life.
Almost a year ago, Ms. Phuong fell and fractured her radius and femur. The surgery cost nearly 100 million VND, and after deducting insurance, she had to pay over 20 million VND.

To support Ms. Phuong's surgery, the Red Cross and the Hoa Thanh commune authorities launched a fundraising campaign to help her cover the costs of her treatment.
According to the leaders of Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, the hospital also provided daily meals for Ms. Phuong from the time of her surgery until she was discharged.
Given the difficult circumstances of the family of the fallen soldier, we earnestly hope that the government, individuals, and philanthropists will pay attention and help Mrs. Phuong's family overcome this hardship.
