3 SLNA coaches go to Korea for training, Huu Thang misses AFC standard 'Pro' course

(Baonghean.vn) -On October 1, 15 Vietnamese football coaches will continue to enter the second phase of the AFC professional football coaching course held in Gyeonggi Province - South Korea. Among them, there are 3 coaches from Nghe An: Ngo Quang Truong, Nguyen Duc Thang and Nguyen Thanh Cong.

At the first AFC professional football coaching course held in early October 2015 in Hanoi, SLNA Club had 3 students completing the course: Coach Nguyen Huu Thang, Coach Ngo Quang Truong, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang and Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong (former head coach of U.19 SLNA).

This is a professional course organized by the Asian Football Confederation in collaboration with member federations with 4 stages, for football coaches who have A license. With the instruction of Mr. Lim Kim Chon (AFC lecturer), the list of students attending stage 2 includes 18 students, including 15 Vietnamese students and 3 students from the Philippines and Malaysia.

Unfortunately, because Coach Nguyen Huu Thang and the national team are gathering in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016, he will miss this important course. Along with Coach Nguyen Duc Dung (Hue Football Club) and Nguyen Manh Cuong (PVF), Coach Nguyen Huu Thang will attend the supplementary course.

Phase 2 of the AFC professional football coaching course was organized in 2 sessions: In Korea: from October 1 to October 11, 2016; in Hanoi: from October 12 to October 21, 2016. And in both of these sessions, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang missed it.

On the morning of September 30, Coaches Quang Truong, Duc Thang and Thanh Cong and a group of 15 Vietnamese students departed for Korea. In addition to theoretical and practical lessons, the coaches will also gain experience by watching two matches in the Korean National Football Championship (K-League).

Coach Nguyen Huu Thang had to miss this important AFC course because of the Vietnam National Team's AFF Cup 2016 campaign.

Currently, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang owns the AFC Level A Professional Coaching Certificate. At the same time, the National Team Head Coach is pursuing the FIFA Pro certificate with his former teammates such as Coach Ngo Quang Truong, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong, Coach Van Sy Son and still has 3 exams ahead. In Vietnam, only Coach Hoang Anh Tuan of the Vietnam U.19 Team owns this valuable certificate.
