Before attempting suicide, Dung wrote a letter in which he planned to kill three more people.

Responding to Major General Ho Sy Tien, Director of the Criminal Police Department, during the first interrogation, Dung said he knew that he was wanted and that if he was caught he would be sentenced to death, so he decided to commit suicide to... die with his body intact.

“The subject still thought that death row inmates would be shot, so he was worried that if he was caught and shot, his body would not be intact and his wife and children would not be able to burn incense. Dung's intention was to find a place to buy extremely poisonous sleeping pills to commit suicide,” Major General Ho Sy Tien said.

However, before committing suicide, he planned to kill his creditor for forcing him into a corner… He just didn't expect that the police would catch him so quickly, before he could commit his next crime.

This afternoon, September 28, information from the Investigation Committee provided additional information, investigators discovered and seized a letter from Doan Trung Dung.

In this letter, he planned to kill 3 people before committing suicide. That was the person who first led him to drug addiction, the creditor who always demanded payment from him, and a man who once called him a “dog under the cupboard” (Dung lived with his wife’s family).

On the afternoon of September 26, the subject took a taxi from Thuy Nguyen to Uong Bi to carry out his plan. If the authorities had not arrested Dung in time, he could have “dealt with” the other 3 men before ending his life…
