The photo series of Vietnam's conical hat is a product of the Vietnamese delegation participating in the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2016.

With the aim of portraying a young Vietnam and expressing national pride, the young members of the SSEAYP Vietnam 2016 team chose a new and interesting way of promoting through a photo series associated with a familiar cultural symbol of the country - the conical hat.

The photo series consists of 22 photos, taken in all three regions of the North, Central and South, capturing the rhythm of life and perspectives of young people across the country. It is known that the idea for this photo series came from a member of the group who is currently in Korea. After many times seeing conical hats brought back by international friends as souvenirs, this member came up with the idea of using the conical hat as the main image of the photo series.

In each photo frame, the conical hat will be decorated with a different expression. All members in the photo are wearing red flag shirts with yellow stars, standing and posing with the conical hat. It is known that the photo series was taken within 2 months. The weather in the three regions when taking the photos was very sunny, however, all members of SSEAYP Vietnam 2016 were very excited about their meaningful project.

The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) is an annual international youth exchange program organized by the Japanese government and 10 ASEAN countries with the aim of enhancing understanding, solidarity and friendship between Japan and countries in the Southeast Asian region, including Vietnam. This is considered one of the most important annual foreign affairs activities of Vietnamese youth, Southeast Asian region and Japan since 1974. SSEAYP 2016 passed through 5 countries: Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam from October 25 to December 15.
