(Baonghean.vn) - On October 13 in Vinh City, the Provincial Cooperative Union organized a training course on internal credit activities for agricultural cooperative staff. The course was attended by 70 students representing cooperatives in the province.

Internal credit is an auxiliary activity in the cooperative, in which the members of the cooperative voluntarily participate and are responsible for the results of the activities. In the internal credit activities of agricultural cooperatives, the lenders and borrowers are all members of the cooperative. The State is not financially responsible for the risks of the internal credit activities of the cooperative. Any capital loss from internal credit activities is the responsibility of the members and the cooperative to handle according to the provisions of law.

The purpose of internal credit is for the cooperative to support a part of capital for members to produce and do business; not for profit, but must preserve capital and fully cover the costs of internal credit activities. The cooperative only uses a part of the charter capital and can use additional capital mobilized from members to lend to members.
