Announcement of the decision to appoint the Principal of Vinh Medical University
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 12, the People's Committee of Nghe An province announced the decision to appoint the Rector of Vinh Medical University for the 2016-2021 term.
Attending the announcement ceremony were comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of relevant departments and branches.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Le Minh Thong presented Decision No. 4916/QD/UBND of Nghe An province issued on October 10, 2016, appointing Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu to hold the position of Principal of Vinh Medical University for the 2016-2021 term.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements that Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu has contributed to the health sector of Nghe An in the past time. He hoped that in his new position, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu would build Vinh University of Medicine to develop more and more comprehensively; innovate in education and training; improve quality, and fulfill the task of training high-quality medical human resources for the North Central region.

As the Principal of Vinh Medical University, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu thanked all levels and sectors for their attention to Vinh Medical University in the past time, and promised to maintain and improve the quality of training, improve the material and spiritual life of teachers and students of the school; together with the Board of Directors, staff and teachers to build Vinh Medical University to develop more and more.
Mr. Nguyen Canh Phu was born in 1962, and held the positions of Deputy Director, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, and Chairman of the Trade Union of Nghe An Preventive Medicine Center. In 2005, Mr. Nguyen Canh Phu was appointed Vice Principal of Nghe An Medical College (now Vinh Medical University). Before being appointed as the Rector of Vinh Medical University, Mr. Phu was the Party Committee Secretary and Vice Rector of the school. Mr. Phu graduated from Tashkent II National Medical Academy (Soviet Union) with a degree in general medicine; in 2003, he completed his doctoral thesis in medicine, specializing in tropical medicine (epidemiology of tropical diseases) at Saint-Peterburg National Medical Academy; was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Medicine (November 1, 2013); senior lecturer (June 20, 2016). |
